ment generating radiated noise (such as a contactor) or heat is installed nearby.
Installation and Wiring
P DANGER
b Switch OFF the power supply of the operator terminal before starting
the installation work or wiring and before mounting or removing the
memory board.
b When the communication between the operation terminal and the
PLC fails it is impossible to operate keys or devices via the operation
terminal. Therefore emergency stops and other safety functions must
not be controlled via the PLC.
E CAUTION
b Do not disassemble or modify the unit. Doing so can cause a failure,
malfunction, injury or fire.
b Use the GOT in the environment that satisfies the general specifica-
tions described in this manual. Don't mount the operation terminal in
an enviroment that contains high explosive risks, strong magnetic
fields, direct sunlight or large, sudden temperature changes.
b Never allow fluids, metal filings or wiring debris to enter any open-
ings in the operator terminal. This may cause short circuits and fire.
Mounting
A GOT is designed to be installed into the door of a control cabinet or into a con-
trol panel.
When the temperature inside the control cabinet or
105f
control panel is 40 to 55 °C (Horizontal mount) or 40 to
50 °C (Vertical mount), the mounting angle should be in
GOT the range 60° to 105° degrees.
60f
Prepare a hole in the panel with the dimensions shown on the left. Please
note that the GOT can also be mounted vertically.
Install the packing to the packing
installation groove on the back Packing
panel of the GOT.
Power Supply Wiring
E CAUTION
b Do not lay signal cables close to the main circuit, high-voltage power
lines, or load lines. Otherwise effects of noise or surge induction are
likely to take place. Keep a safe distance of more than 100 mm from
the above when wiring.
b When connecting the power supply please confirm the rated voltage
and the polarity. Not doing so can cause a fire or failure.
Applicable wires and terminal torque
Connect the power supply to the power terminals on the back panel of the
GOT. Use a specified size power supply wire to prevent voltage drop, and
tighten the terminal screws firmly to a torque of 0.22 to 0.25 Nm.

Grounding
Make sure to ground the FG terminal of the GOT. The size for the grounding
wire is given in the above table.
b The grounding resistance should be 100 ȑ or less.
b The grounding point should be close to the GOT. Keep the grounding
wires as short as possible.
b Independent grounding should be performed for best results.
When independent grounding is not performed, perform "shared
grounding" of the following figure.
