LTM4636
40A µModule Regulator
with Enhanced Efficiency
and Thermal Performance
Description
The LTM®4636 is a 40A µModule® (micromodule) step-
down regulator. It contains a switching controller plus
power MOSFETs, inductor and components supporting
internal and external compensation. Its stacked inductor
construction and high performance electrical design allow
for a 12VIN to 1VOUT conversion at 40A with 88% efficiency,
resulting in only 40°C rise with 200LFM airflow and no
power derating up to 85°C. The device operates from a
4.7V to 15V input supply and regulates an output from
0.6V to 3.3V set by an external resistor.
Current mode operation allows precise current sharing
of up to six LTM4636 regulators to obtain a 240A output.
The LTM4636 is offered in a thermally enhanced 16mm
× 16mm × 7.07mm BGA package. The LTM4636 is RoHS
compliant.
